Darrell is from the proud community of Outer Cove, located about 10 minutes north of St. John's. Coming from a very musical family, his father Paddy having been in a band, music was always a part of his life. Darrell was in many differend kinds of bands throughout high school and for a part of university. He attended Memorial University majoring in Linguistics and Education, and graduated in 1991. It was during these years that he met Bob and Séan and formed Rankin Street with them (more information on Rankin Street in Bob's bio) and a couple of years later met Alan and formed Great Big Sea.
Darrell shares my love for a good cup of coffee. So, he can't be all that bad. A very optimistic man, he's doing what he loves and wants to do right now.
